We aim to run every aspect of our business in an ethical and sustainable way.

We support traditional and responsible methods of manufacture, both in our French ateliers and our Indian workshops. We locally source our materials as much as we possibly can. We produce small runs throughout our entire Collection to prevent wastage. We use up-cycled packaging, produced by the Samuday Initiative, an NGO in India. We donate 1% of all our profits to the registered charity CorSeaCare, who work for the preservation and restoration of Corsica's marine habitats.

Re-kini™

As part of our mission to reduce landfill we offer this exclusive service. Although we are committed to producing high quality, long-lasting swimwear, exposure to saltwater, chlorine and detergents may result in the deterioration of the elastic. The Re-kini™ service is our way of helping you to extend the life of your favourite pieces by replacing the elastic. If this is not possible and the elastic and fabric is too worn out - we are happy to recreate your favorite pieces- we all have that piece we love. Please contact us for more details info@tara-matthews.com

Our Ateliers

We work with small ateliers in the South of France and in Corsica, employing the same artisans who created couture for legendary fashion houses. As a result, not only is each piece unique, but we are also helping to support small and local businesses.

Our Fabrics

In order to perfect our swimwear collection we use various high-quality SPU 50+ fabrics to suit our different requirements: beautiful silke lycra to allow softness and drape, power lycra for support and embroidery and lux lycra for glamour.

Hand Embellishment

Our hand embroidered and beaded collections are detailed in our traditional workshops in India. Working with master craftsmen, we promote the use of traditional techniques, helping to preserve an age old heritage. We use many different threads and beads and semi-precious stones on our top of the range pieces.

Our Packaging

Our Collection will come to you packed in hand-crafted, re-usable, swim pouches made from up-cycled cement sacks. These pouches are traditionally embroidered and sewn by an NGO in India, exclusively for us, to give as a gift to you. This in turn supports women living in rural Uttar Pradesh, allowing them to earn a sustainable income.
